Tenure-track Associate Professor. Teaching responsibility for upper and lower division classes include engineering geology, urban geology and planning, field geology, field methods, and physical geology.
1987 University of California, Riverside, CA and University Extension. Instructor. Wrote, coordinated and taught ten-week course on Ground Water Hydrology: Monitoring Protection and Clean-up, as part of the Hazardous Waste Certificate Program.
1983 University of California, Irvine, CA and University Extension. Instructor. Originated, coordinated and taught an eight week (30-hour) course on Geology and Geologic Hazards of Southern California. Lectures with slides and film and field trips.

1987-89 Schaefer Dixon Associates, Inc.
Associate/Director of Envirotechnical Services. Responsible for technical quality and effort of Hazardous Waste Services Group including writing and review of all reports. Directs the work effort of 14 scientists and engineers including discipline managers in three offices. Administrative marketing responsibilities include preparation of complex technical proposals, presentations and project control. Work effort includes landfill geology and hydrology, underground storage tank investigations and assessments of property for hazardous waste pollution.
1984-87 Irvine Consulting Group, Irvine, CA
Senior Geologist. Project Manager for several projects, including Santa Margarita Water District's Chiquita Waste Treatment Plant. Duties included participation in technical management meetings, job cost control, control of geologic, seismic, and hydrologic quality, preparation of proposals relative to geology, hazardous waste, ground-water, and seismicity. Technical responsibility also included senior project management of studies
related to leaking underground tanks, landfill monitoring, groundwater basin management, groundwater contamination, water well and monitoring well installation, computer modeling and clean-up and abatement. Knowledge of CERCLA, RCRA and various state and local regulations. Coordination with various government agencies.
1981-84 Wahler Associates, Newport Beach, CA
Senior Geologist - Deputy Manager. Directly responsible to Manager for geological operations and technical performance. Manager of projects which included fault studies, a large-scale geotechnical analysis of 29 Palms Marine Base and preliminary as well as in grading project control of Mission Viejo Company hillside residential developments in Southern Orange County. Office responsibilities included preparation of proposals, job control and review of geological personnel.
1980-81 Gary S. Rasmussen and Associates, San Bernardino, CA
Staff Geologist. Responsible for project control and field investigations basically related to fault hazards in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. Projects included trenching of the San Andreas, San Jacinto and Elsinore faults, geoseismic evaluation of two Bureau of Reclamation Dams in central Utah and a regional groundwater analysis of a future townsite in western Zulia State, Venezuela.
